WAR GRAVE FIELDS | Hauptfriedhof Karlsruhe
08/05/2020
Today is a special date to remember how useless war is.
So much loss. So much suffering. So many tears on all sides.
There’s nothing heroic about this.
Let’s listen to the old who experienced war, as long as they are still alive.
Listen to their stories, their feelings and their warnings. Write them down. Keep the memories so they won’t get lost.
Maybe someday we will learn.
Perceive them who are still suffering from war. Giving them shelter should be responsibility of every strong and peaceful country.
Being human enables us to make own decisions. And peace is often the more diffiult path.
There are many promising steps in our times towards a peaceful and reputable world.
Let’s keep them in focus. Always.

“With the use of air forces, wars were made ‘totally ‘.
Children, women and the elderly also became combatants – far from the front.
The First World War claimed 768 air war deaths in Germany, 168 of them in Karlsruhe.”
“To the dead of the air raids on Karlsruhe in World War I, 1914-1918.
The warning to repent was not heard.”
Memorial stele for killed civilians and soldiers during WW I.
